Lava tube'd...

Up at 6:30 again... Arghhh...

* Breakfast at a place named Brandy's, which was incredibly delish. Shital (our awesome Flagstaf friend/guide/maven/cool man) invited 3 friends and one of their 12 year old cousins... All 3 of the friends looked unbelievably familar. Rachel asked if we (she and I) had met before, and it felt like we had. Julia, who sat next to me, felt like an old friend. All the talk of past lives swishing in the air.. But so nice to meet them/see them again..

* Onto the Lowell Observatory! Steve the guide and beautiful old telescopes -- this is where Pluto was discovered!! 'Heard a lot about a gentleman named TomPat (sp?) and I'm learning to bring my Museum badge everywhere (I could have gotten in for free...! ASTC...Kinda silly)

* Onward to outside town a bit, thru some woods, dirt roads, and a cave made out of a lava tube. Incredible. Ice and darkness and scrambling over rocks.. other 'splunkers coming up promised us lemonade and popcorn stands at the bottom (of which there were none.) 'Never done anything like that before, never been in a cave like that, never scrambled hand over foot on big pieces of basalt & lava rock.

* 'Grabbed a slaw dog at the Dog Haus, a drive-thru-THE-BUILDING hot dog house. I had a "slaw dog" -- cold slaw is damned versatile.

* Now back to Phoenix for who knows what else. Very lucky. Good stuff.... My ears are popping, as we drive out of Flagstaff... See u tomorrow...

Onward.
